to visit MIDC zone

The petition committee of the state
legislative assembly will visit MIDC industrial zone at Andheri on September 13 to get
first hand informationm on the bad condition of the roads and other amenities. The
committee also directed officials of MIDC, industries and urban development department and
BMC to remain present during the visit.
The committee would also meet local people to understand tjeire point of view. Local MLA, Suresh Shetty had taken up the matter with various concerned agencies to sort the problem. He also organised a visit of ex municipal commissioner Nalinakshan last December. He had also requested the industries minister Patangrao Kadam to call joint meeting of MIDC and BMC so the basic qyestion of fixing the responsibility of maintenance of roads and drainage would be solved. He then submitted a petition of local residents, MIDC industries association and local corporators to the committee. In the first meeting of the committee held last week, the petitioners were invited to narrate theire grievances which were heard by the deputy speaker Pramod Shende following which the committee decided to visit the area. |
