According to our chief reporter, a massive fire broke out at Chakala Mahakali Caves road junction. In a shop dealing in Timber, VIP luggage & various other building material. Though it has not been confirmed offically, but most obivious reason stated was that of short circuit. The owner of the business establishment, Mohd. Rafiq said that fire broke out around 2:30 a.m. in the morning. No loss of life has been reported so far, though according to initial assesments Mr. Rafiq has suffered a loss of around Rs. 25-27 Lakhs.
5 to 6 Fire brigade rushed to the spot around 4:00 a.m. it was too late by then. If fire brigade personnel would have acted promptly , loss of property could have been substantialy reduced as reported by Mr.Rafiq.
It is an alarming note to the traffic control department to tackle the morning office hours heavy traffic under such situations, as almost 100% of commuters had to suffer the psychological turmoil.
It is not clear how the fire department allowed such inflammable material to be stored in such huge grabbie in a busy square. Obivously the shop has been running in an unauthorised manner, circumvalating several Muncipal/ Fire regulations.
